All three have been forwarded to the appropriate authorities for further legal proceedings in line with the relevant regulations.
The Saudi Ministry of Interior previously revealed that they sanctioned eight expats and nine Saudi nationals for violating Hajj rules. The Hajj Security Forces arrested them at the entrance points to Makkah as they were carrying 61 people without the necessary permit to perform Hajj.
The transporters, their collaborators, and the transported individuals were all subject to administrative decisions handed down by the ministry via the seasonal administrative committees.
The rulings decided that offenders might face deportation, fines of up to SR100,000, imprisonment for up to 10 years, and the publication of their names in the local media at their cost. Read: KSA has the largest digital economy in the MENA region
A penalty of up to SR20,000 might be imposed on those who tried to perform Hajj without a permit, and the seizing of cars used to transport pilgrims illegally was also demanded by the ministry.
For the sake of the pilgrims' safety and security, the ministry stressed that all residents and citizens must adhere to the Hajj rules and directions.
The Public Security has issued a strong call to all citizens and residents to follow the Hajj norms. In the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, the number to report any infractions is 911. In the rest of the kingdom, the number is 999.
