Ministry of Interior announces the Penalty for violating Hajj regulations


The punishment for those caught without a Hajj permit within the city of Makkah, the central region, the holy sites, the Haramain train station in Al-Rusaifah, security control centers, sorting centers, and temporary security control centers will be enforced, according to the announcement made by the Ministry of the Interior in Saudi Arabia. The penalty is scheduled to start from 11/25/1445 (2nd June 2024) and lasts until 12/14/1445 (20th June 2024).

- Anyone caught within the designated area without a valid Hajj permit will be fined 10,000 riyals by the Ministry of Justice. Those who reside in the area without a permit will be deported to their home country and will be prohibited from entering the Kingdom as per the periods set by law.

In order to ensure the safety, security, comfort, and reassurance of Pilgrims as they perform the Hajj rituals, the Ministry of the Interior has stressed that those who disobey the rules will face a double fine of 10,000 riyals if the offense is repeated. - Importantly, if you are found transporting someone who does not comply with Hajj rules and instructions without the proper paperwork, you could face up to six months in prison, a fine of up to 50,000 riyals, a court order to seize your used land and transportation assets, and even deportation if you are an expat.
