After 2 years of gap, Itikaf to resume in the Two Holy Mosques this Ramadan


The General President of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahman AL-Suadis announced the return of Itikaaf in the the Grand Mosque and Prophet's Mosque with specific controls and criteria, stating that permits will be available soon through official website of the Presidency.







After a gap of 2 years, Itikaaf in the Two Holy Mosques will take place in the last 10 days of the blessed month of Ramadan, the Presidency has started preparations for Itikaaf. See Also : Why the marble flooring in Makkah is cold even during High soaring temperatures

- The procedure to applying for Itikaaf will be launched through a special link on the website of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques.

What is Itikaaf?

Itikaaf is a Islamic practice or spiritual retreat during the last 10 days of the blessed month of Ramadan, where a person will spend his 24 hours in a Mosque to immerse himself in worship and the remembrance of Allah (SWT), recitation of Holy Quran, offer all prayers in congregation. - Ititkaaf should be started from the morning of 20th Ramadan after Fajr until the sight of the moon of Eid Al-Fitr. In Itikaf, a person will find time to turn towards his Lord, after breaking away from worldly commitments.

- Abu Hurayra said, The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to do Itikaf for 10 days every Ramadan. In the year in which he died he did Itikaf for 20 days - Al-Bukhari. Follow Saudi Expatriates

- The Prophet used to practice Itikaf in the last 10 nights of Ramadan and used to say, Look for the Night of Qadr in the last 10 nights of the month of Ramadan.
