Largest solar panel factory of MENA region launched in Tabuk

Saudi Arabia launched the 1st phase of a factory for the production of solar panels in the Industrial City of Tabuk. The factory is largest of its kind in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region with an investments of 700 million Saudi Riyals. Saudi Expatriates app in now available on Play Store

The total area of the plant is more than 27,000 square meters, with a capacity of 1.2 gigawatts. According to the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Osman Al-Zamil, the plant aims to improve investment in solar energy and diversify energy sources.

- Al-Zamil said that the presence of such factories in the city of Tabuk has a strategic dimension, specifically due to its proximity to major Giga projects such as NEOM and the Red Sea, including the availability of qualified national manpower to work in various jobs available in these factories.

- He added that, this is one of the highly advanced factories in the field of automation in Saudi Arabia, with production mechanisms that rely on machines and hire the latest international technology in the sector.

- Saudi Arabia, within the framework of its Saudi Vision 2030, is moving toward building a sustainable renewable energy sector that supports its economic growth, specifically with its appropriate geographical and climate factors to benefit from renewable energy sources.
