Saudi Arabia to reach 70% of Community Immunity against Covid-19 in the coming days
An infectious disease consultant, Dr. Hawraa Al Bayat said to Al Ikhbaria that Saudi Arabia will reach 70% of the community immunity against Covid-19, when the Corona vaccine provides to about 25 million people in the coming days.
Al-Bayat added that Kingdom aims to reach 80% of the societal immunity against Corona virus, by taking 2 doses of the vaccine, especially with the presence of the delta and other mutants.
- Al-Bayat added that scientific studies have proven the effectiveness of the vaccine against delta mutant is after taking 2nd dose, but it does not reduce the effectiveness of first dose against delta and some other variants of Covid-19. - Today, The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia announces 1,298 new Corona cases, 1,428 new recoveries and 13 deaths, In the last 24 hours, the ministry has done 117,221 Covid-19 tests all over the Kingdom.
- The total number of Corona cases in the Kingdom increases to 507,423 of which 488,346 recovered with 8,048 deaths, bringing the total active corona cases to 11,029 of which 1,400 are critical and are in ICU wards. So far the Kingdom has done 23.53 million (23,537,626) Covid-19 tests.
- Saudi Arabia has administered more than 21.78 million (21,784,967) doses of Corona vaccine all over the Kingdom through 587 vaccination centers, in which first doses are 18,433,810 and second doses are 3,351,157, while the elderly people received 1,413,382 doses of the vaccine.
