Starting Tomorrow, Saudi Arabia lifts the suspension of Travel From and To the Kingdom


After a suspension of more than 1 year and 2 months, Saudi Arabia to operate the first flights from Tomorrow (17th May) 1 AM to travel outside and into the Kingdom, by opening its air, land and sea ports.



The Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia have identified the categories that are permitted to travel outside the Kingdom, immunized citizens who received two full doses of Covid-19 vaccine, as well as those who received one dose, given that 14 days have passed since they were vaccinated with the first dose, according to what appears in the Tawakkalna application.

- Citizens recovering from the Corona virus are also allowed to travel, given that they had spent less than 6 months infected with the virus, according to what appears in the Tawakkalna application. - Citizens under the age of 18 years have to present a insurance policy approved by the Saudi Central Bank before traveling, covering the risks of (Covid-19) outside the Kingdom.

- According to the instructions announced by the concerned authorities, they are also subject to home quarantine after returning to the Kingdom for a period of 7 days, stating that a PCR test is done at the end of the period of quarantine, Under the age of 8 years are excluded from the tests and this category can be modified according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health.

- Starting 20th May, Foreign travelers (Expats) arriving to Saudi Arabia (from countries from which their arrival has not been suspended) needs to quarantine for a week and a swab test to be done on the 6th day, this quarantine shall be spent in government-approved accommodation and the quarantine cost shall be included in your flight ticket, with a valid health insurance policy to cover the risks that may result from infection with covid-19. - However, those who received full doses of one of the vaccines approved by the Ministry of Health, to enter the Kingdom without the need for a quarantine period, provided they present an official vaccination certificate before and upon their arrival. It is must for expat travelers to show a negative PCR test result, the test must be taken not more than 72 hours before departure for those all who are above 8 years.
