Seasonal maintenance of the Holy Kaaba Kiswa begins in preparation of Ramadan 2021

Maintenance works are carried out by 14 technicians, accompanied by /a quality monitor and a health specialist affiliated with the General Presidency of the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Holy Kaaba, exhibitions, museums and the Occupational Safety and Health Unit.
- Fahd bin Hadhid Al Jabri, the director of the maintenance department for the holy Kaaba covering supervising the Grand Mosque, said that the maintenance work began by loosening the cloth and tightening it from all sides, installing a plain black cloth under the golden rings in the Shaterwan, and changing the frame of the black stone and the frame of the Yemeni corner hand-embroidered with silver-coated silver wires. - Al-Jabri also confirmed that the work of cleaning the cloth from dust and plankton will take place after the completion of the maintenance operations. He added that the work of monitoring and maintenance of the garment continues around the clock, and the necessary sewing and handling of any emergency that occurs to the garment is done quickly if needed, through a highly qualified Saudi technical cadre with an experience of up to 30 years.
- He said that all work is carried out with the application of all precautionary measures, and in the presence of an emergency health professional, to maintain the safety of everyone and the commitment to wearing the mask, sterilization and distancing, which facilitates work and the success of the task.
