 Saudi Arabia started imposing Fines on Shared housing violations from 1st January


The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs in Saudi Arabia started imposing penalties on combined housing violations from 1st January 2021. Trending : Saudi Arabia resumes international flights and reopens its borders from 3rd January 2021



The Committee which is responsible for regulating the accommodation of expat workers, affiliated with Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, earlier announced that it is working on two parallel ways to help the private sector by checking the quality of combined housing and sticking to the relevant standards.

- The committee approve the first phase which require the company owners to disclose the locations of the labor accommodation through the collective housing platform. Read : Vehicle models for which seat belt violation applies in Saudi Arabia

- Meanwhile, the second phase aims to license the shared housing but after the complying with health, technical and safety needs through the Balady platform.
