Saudi Arabia approves Quarterly renewal or issuance of Iqamas and Work Permits


The Council of Ministers chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz approved the issuance and renewal of iqamas (residency permits) and work permits for 3 months as minimum period.



This decision allows employers to issue or renew iqamas for at least on a quarterly basis than paying it annually. 

- Moreover, The cabinet approved to collect the fee of iqamas, work permits, expat levy and financial compensations in installments.

- The Cabinet also abolished the Diplomatic Quarter Authority in Riyadh and its organizational arrangements and transferred all its missions, projects, rights, obligations and employees to the jurisdiction of the Royal Commission for Riyadh.

- The cabinet also approves the scale of salaries for health practitioners working within the employment programs in public, specialized and reference hospitals, to the interns enrolled in the program.

- The Council also gave green light for "Saudi doctor under training program" name to 'Health practitioners training program', adding the category of non-medical specialists accepted in training programs implemented at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties to the program. - The Cabinet considered the Public Investment Fund's strategy for the next 5 years, approved by Board of Directors headed by the Crown Prince, as a major pillar in achieving Saudi Vision towards the economic growth, raising the quality of life, achieving the concept of comprehensive and sustainable development in diverse traditional and modern sectors.
