 Labor Department settled 31 Million Riyals dues for families of Deceased Expat workers


The Labor Relations department at Riyadh region's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has settled the claims  of 31 million Saudi Riyals for the families of the deceased expatriate workers.



The department managed to secure the funds of 31 million Saudi Riyals during the last 15 months for the families of deceased and this was achieved with the coordination of embassies of their respective countries.

- This settlement of dues marks one of the major achievements for the department in line with its efforts to protect the rights of expat workers. Trending : All workers salaries to be paid only through Bank as per 17th Phase of Wage Protection Program

- The department is also involved in implementing the new labor regulations announced by the ministry recently as part of its new labor reforms of Saudi Arabia, which is to be effect from 14th March.

- The new labor reforms of the Kingdom allows expat workers in private sector to switch jobs without the consent of their current employer, who fails to attend the court sessions set for the amicable settlement of disputes. Read : New amendments in labor law of new reforms in Saudi Arabia

- In the new forms, the ministry issues work permit for the purpose of issuing final exit, if iqama expired, the ministry also receives complaints about absent from work and handle such issues.
