 No normalization with Israel without Palestinian statehood - King Salman to Trump

Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud said to United States President Donald Trump that there would not be normalization with Israel without Palestinian statehood during the phone call to discus on G20 work.

The two leaders spoke by phone after a historic US brokered deal last month under which the UAE agreed to become the Arab state to normalize ties with Israel, after Egypt and Jordan.

- King Salman told Turmp, he appreciated US efforts to support peace and that Saudi Arabia wanted to see a fair and permanent solution to Palestinian issue, which he said was the main starting point of Arab Peace Initiative proposed by Saudi Arabia in 2002. - As per the proposal, Arab nations have offered Israel normalized ties in return for a statehood deal with the Palestinians and full Israel withdrawal from territory captured in the 1967 Middle East war.

- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has set a price for concluding peace between Israel and Arabs, which is the creation of sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its Capital as provided by the initiative of the late King Abdullah. - Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Islam and site of its holiest shrines, does not recognize Israel.
