Coalition forces intercepted and destroyed drone launched towards Abha Airport
The Coalition forces to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced the targeting and dropping of a booby trapped drone launched by the Houthis towards Abha International Airport of Saudi Arabia, as per Saudi Press Agency.
The terrorist and brutal act of targeting travelers at Abha airport, Thousands of travelers, citizens and expatriate residents of different nationalities pass through Abha International airport daily.
- The spokesperson of the coalition forces, Colonel Turki Al Maliki said that as a result of interception and destruction process of drone, some sharpnel fell on Abha airport, however, there are not injuries or damage to civilians , travelers and airport workers.
- Al-Maliki highlighted that the leadership of the joint forces of coalition and in the face of these terrorist acts and immoral abuses by Houthi militia will continue to implement strict measures to deter this militia.
- To ensure the protection of civilian objects and civilians the terrorist elements are responsible for planning and carrying out the attack will be held accountable as per the international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
