Violating Weekend rule to penalize Company up to 100,000 riyals


According to Ministry of Labor, those companies who are calculating weekends as part of their employees annual vacation will be treated in weekend violation and the penalty for this weekend violation is 100,000 Saudi riyals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Earlier this year ministry received several complaints from various company employees that their employers are exploiting the rights of employees. Recommended : Penalty for traffic violation Saudi Arabia

As per Saudi Labor Law, weekends are not the part of annual vacation, weekends are official paid leaves.

- No one has the right to force the employees for working during weekends, Their should not be any deduction of salary for the weekend leaves. Similar : working hours of new labour law in Saudi Arabia

- In case of working in a weekend leave without any force from employer, It should be calculate as overtime for an employee.

- Labor Ministry will penalize with SR 100,000 on those all companies who are counting weekends in annual leave or vacation. Related : Saudi Arabia new law for foreigners vacation

- Violation companies will get a time for paying the fines, In case of failing to pay in the time the violation penalty will be increased.
