Saudi security forces arrested 19,541 illegals last week
Over the previous week, Saudi security authorities have arrested 19,541 unauthorized residents from various locations of the Kingdom. Most Viewed: Riyadh Metro's Orange Line is now operational
The arrests were made during combined field security campaigns conducted in coordination with appropriate government agencies from December 26 to January 1, the Ministry of Interior stated on Saturday.
The arrestees included 11,402 Residency Law offenders, 4,775 Border Security Law violators, and 3,364 Labor Law violators.
The overall number of people arrested while attempting to cross the border into the Kingdom was 953, with 40% Yemeni, 58% Ethiopian, and 2% belonging to other nationalities.
A total of 129 people were caught while attempting to flee the Kingdom illegally.

As part of punitive measures, 33,733 illegal residents, including 30,724 men and 3,009 women, are currently going through various stages of legal proceedings.
A total of 22,827 violators were sent to their diplomatic missions for travel documents; 5,365 were recommended to finish their trip bookings; and 8,954 were deported.
The Ministry of Interior has warned that anyone who facilitates the illegal entry of individuals into the Kingdom, transports them on its territory, or provides them with shelter or any other assistance or service may face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to SR1 million, as well as the confiscation of vehicles used for transportation or houses used for shelter.
The ministry advised the public to report any violations by dialing 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 996 in the other of the Kingdom's areas. Follow Saudi Expatriates on LinkedIn
