Saudi Arabia welcomed over 100 million Tourists, sets new Target now


In the Year 2023, Saudi Arabia has more than doubled its goal of 27 million foreign tourists by the end of the decade, as per official on Tuesday. It had only been less than 5 years since the Kingdom fully opened up to tourists. Trending Video : List of Public Holidays in Saudi Arabia in 2024



"We have received over 100 million tourists this year, 77 million from home and 27 million from abroad", Tourism Minister Ahmed al-Khateeb said at a meeting placed together by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund.

- He said that the Kingdom government now has a new target of 150 million tourists by the year 2030, up from their original goal of 100 million. Of those, 70 million will be from abroad, up from their original goal of 30 million.

Saudi Arabia has long been a destination for pilgrims and business visitors, but it hadn't begun giving out general tourist visas until the year 2019, just months before the coronavirus pandemic wiped out the Tourism industry around the world.

- In recent years, the Kingdom has eased the restrictions on movies, shows with people of all genders, and big sports events.
