Ban period of 3 years for those who left Kingdom on Re-Entry, is not applicable on the Same employer visa


The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) in Saudi Arabia clarified on the instructions for a ban for 3 years from entry into the Kingdom for those who left on Exit Re-Entry visa and did not return.



The official Twitter handle of Saudi Jawazat received an inquiry from one of its followers, asking, "Can an expat worker return after 4 years have passed, knowing that he left Saudi Arabia on re-entry visa and did not return, but while checking for his iqama number, his status is Absent From Work"?

- In response, the Saudi Passports department clarified that the ban period of three years on failing to return on exit re-entry visa, is not applicable for the same or current employer with a new visa. Read : Minimum 90 days validity is required on Passport to issue Exit Re-Entry visa

- Jawazat further explained that, the ban period of 3 years is calculated from the expiry date of exit re-entry visa, and in which Hijri date will be preferable while calculation.

Jawazat now allows Inquiries about Border Number through Absher platform :

Recently, Saudi Jawazat announced the possibility of inquiring about the border number without visiting to Jawazat offices through their Absher accounts. Related : Procedure to check border number using Absher account and without Absher account

- The Jawazat through its official Twitter handle said, Citizens of the GCC states and visitors of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia can inquire about their border number without the need to visit the passport departments. As now this is possible to inquire through Absher electronic platform.
