Required ideal Sleeping hours for Human body of all Age groups - Ministry of Health


The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia clarified the normal number of healthy sleeping hours required for the human body in different age groups, from birth age to old age. Similar : Lack of sleep risks your health, including high blood pressure and diabetes







The Health Ministry said that the normal number of required healthy hours of sleep

* For Newborns (0 to 3 months) ranges between 14 to 17 hours per day.

* For Infants (4-11 months) needs 12 to 16 hours of sleep per day.

* For Children (1 to 2 years) the normal sleep required between 11 to 14 hours per day. See Also : Correct timings of exposure to sunlight in winter and summer

* For Pre-School Children (3 to 5 years) the required sleep for them is between 10 to 13 hours per day.





* For School age Children (6 to 13 years) ranges between 9 to 11 hours per day.

* For Adolescent age (14 to 24 years) between 8 to 10 hours in a day.

* For Adults (25 to 64 years) between 7 to 9 hours per day. Read : 5 dangers of eating just before bed

* For Elderly (Above 65 years) between 7 to 8 hours per day.
