Saudi Food and Drug Authority warns against the wrong use of Medicines for Cosmetic purpose


The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), in an awareness video posted on its official Twitter account, warned of the dangers of the wrong use of medicines for cosmetic purposes.







The Food and Drug Administration pointed out that the wrong use of medicines for cosmetic purposes may cause serious health problems.

- The authority explained that such wrong practices may reflect negatively, and cause the appearance of skin problems, hair proliferation, or liver function problems. Trending : SFDA warns promoters of unknown products of legal accountability

- The Food and Drug Authority highlighted the importance of consulting the attending physician before taking any medications to avoid their health risks.

- A Medicine safety specialist, Nada Al-Ateeq said that the use of eye drops to increase and lengthen eyelashes, and the use of hand creams that contain topical cortisone for the purpose of moisturizing and leveling the skin, and lip-lightening ointments cause skin problems. - She warned to not use these drugs without consulting a doctor, as it may cause many problems such as skin pigmentation, infections, increased sensitivity and redness of the skin, atrophy of the skin layer and the appearance of excess and unwanted hair.
