Saudi Arabia arrested 14,600 violators of Residency, Labor Laws and Border regulations in a Week


Saudi Arabia has arrested about 14,600 violators within a week on violations of residency and labor laws and border regulations in various regions of the Kingdom, the violators were arrested after joint inspections carried out by security forces and Jawazat during the period 15th July to 21st July, 2021. From the 14,600 arrested violators, 4,500 were the violators of residency laws, 9,000 violators of border security regulations and 1,000 were the violators of the Saudi labor law.

- About 270 people were arrested while trying to cross the border into the Kingdom, of which 46% are Yemenis, 44% are Ethiopians and 10% of various nationalities, 127 violators were arrested for trying to flee the Kingdom crossing borders. - The security forces also arrested 5 people who were transporting violators and providing them shelter. A total of more than 60,000 violators are currently subject to punitive measures, of which 50,000 are men and 9600 are women. 44,000 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions to get travel documents for their deportation.





- According to Ministry of Interior, anyone caught facilitating to enter the Kingdom in violation of the border and security regulations, or provides him shelter or transportation or any other assistance or service in any way, will be penalized with a jail term of 15 years and a fine of 1 million Saudi Riyals, with the seizure of means of transportation, and the residence used for shelter, including publicizing their name in local media.
