Failure to renew Iqama on time can lead to deportation of an Expat worker


The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) in Saudi Arabia restated the importance of compliance to the regulations and instructions and the responsibility to renew the “resident identity (iqama)” for all residents at least 3 days before its expiry.







Saudi Jawazat highlighted that failure to comply with the renewal of iqama exposes its owner to face legally mentioned penalties, up to deportation of an expat worker. Similar : 1,000 riyals fine for failing to leave on Final exit visa before its expiry

The passports department said “Failure to renew a iqama exposes its owner to penalties,” explaining that the penalty for not renewing a “resident identity” on time,

* For the first time, a fine of 500 riyals

* If repeated, for the second time, the penalty is doubled to reach 1,000 riyals.

* In case of repeated again for the third time, the violator will be deported from Saudi Arabia.





- Earlier this, Jawazat On announced that the “Muqeem” electronic portal will provide a “resident identity” delivery service through the document delivery service, in order to save time and effort. See Also : Non-Saudi coming to Saudi Arabia must register their vaccination status

- The passport department pointed out that the document delivery service is provided upon completion of the issuance or renewal process, or in the event of transferring services and modifying the profession.
