Saudi Arabia allows serving of Shisha in open places, starting from 17th May


The Public Health Authority (Weqaya) in Saudi Arabia revealed that 'Immunized' and vaccinated customers only can enter shisha cafes, as per their status on 'Tawakkalna' app.



The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing announced the reopening of smoking areas and allowing restaurants and cafes serving shisha after banning it as a precaution against the spread of Covid-19.

- The Ministry issued the precautionary measures to reopen smoking areas and shisha serving areas starting 17th May, as per the international preventive measures, ministry to conduct regular inspections to make sure compliance. - Starting from 17th May, The authority also said all the workers in the cafes must be immunized or present PCR test result showing negative status of Corona virus every 7 days at the expense of the company where they are working.

- Prohibiting serving hookah in closed places or places of food service, it is limited to serving only in open places. Cafes must ensure the social distancing, with the distance of not less than 3 meters between each table in one hall.

- Only disposable Shisha hoses can be used and groups more than 5 customers are not allowed to sit together. Read : 90% of Kingdom's population to live in cities by 2050
