Saudi Post specifies the compensation value of Lost or Damaged Shipments or Parcels
The Saudi Post Corporation in Saudi Arabia indicated the compensation that it grants to the owners of parcels and shipments in the event of their loss or damage.
The Postal Corporation on its website said that the shipment compensation policy aims to clarify and define the opportunity and mechanism for compensating the senders clients of the Saudi Post Corporation for damaged or lost shipments.
- The Foundation explained that the compensation policy is divided into 2 types, the first is shipments that have been insured by the customer as per the cargo insurance service, and the second is shipments that have not been insured by the sender. - According to what was stipulated in Article 10 of the Saudi Post System issued by Royal Decree No. Ordinary or insured, and the sender is entitled in the event of loss or damage to compensation in accordance with what is decided by postal agreements or cabinet decisions.
- Saudi Post explained that if the shipment was insured by the customer and was lost or damaged in one of the stages of work in Saudi Post, then the customer is compensated according to some requirements represented in the claim mechanism and compensation mechanism according to the insurance policy mechanism, the dispatch bill and the consignment note (whichever is available), Pointing out that the compensation value is at the latest equal to the declared value of the shipment in addition to the transmission fees.
- If the shipment was not insured by the customer and suffered loss or damage in one of the stages of work of Saudi Post, then the customer will be compensated according to the service as follows:
First - Express Mail Service:

- 75 riyals in addition to the fees collected for each transported shipment.
Second - Parcels :
- 75 riyals, for each parcel weighing no more than 5 Kg.
- 110 riyals, for each package weighing between 5 and 10 kilograms.
- 150 riyals, for each parcel weighing between 10 and 15 kilograms.

The Postal Corporation indicated that in the event of damage or loss of official documents, freight charges are compensated and a letter is prepared for the concerned party, while the amount of compensation for international postal shipments is in accordance with what is decided in the postal agreements.
