3 Days of Isolation for Pilgrims coming from Abroad: Ministry of Hajj and Umrah
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia, Amr bin Reda Al-Maddah, confirmed that pilgrims coming from abroad will be isolated for a period of 3 days to ensure their safety.
"Umrah companies are responsible for educating those wishing to perform Umrah about the precautionary measures that must be applied throughout the Umrah journey," Amr Al-Maddah said in statements transmitted by the official account of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on Twitter.
- He added that, "The pilgrim coming from abroad will remain in health isolation since arrival for a period of 3 days in the hotel to ensure his or her safety." Saudi Expatriates News is now on WhatsApp channel
- The Ministry had revealed the controls of providing services to pilgrims abroad by Umrah partners and travel agents outside the Kingdom, indicating that the Kingdom is honored to start receiving pilgrims from abroad for the third phase of the gradual return of Umrah, starting from 1st November 2020.
- The Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the concerned agencies, and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah implement the following.
* Regularly identifies the numbers and countries of pilgrims abroad as per the precautionary measures, classification, and country requirements from which pilgrims and visitors come from Saudi Arabia.
* The Ministry of Health approves qualified service providers in accordance with the regulations, precautionary requirements, and health protocols of the exceptional phase. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah will allow service providers to showcase their services on the electronic marketing platforms that are approved in the Saudi GDS.
* The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah will electronically certify the contracts between external agents and Umrah companies to limit the spread of Covid-19. Like and Follow Saudi Expatriates News on Facebook.
Protocols to Perform Umrah for Pilgrims outside Saudi Arabia:
1. The age group of Umrah pilgrims from abroad must be between 18 and 50 years old.
2. To submit a negative PCR test certificate that proves the pilgrim is free of Covid-19. The certificate must be issued by an authorized laboratory in the pilgrim's country and not exceed 72 hours from when the pilgrim took the sample until his departure to Saudi Arabia.
3. To pre-reserve a date to perform Umrah, pray in the Grand Mosque, visit the Prophet's Mosque, and pray in the Holy Rawdah according to the regulations and capacity in the Eatmarna application.
4. To have confirmed flights for the departure and the return according to the approved programs for each pilgrim.
Mandatory Components for Pilgrim's Services Package:
- Accommodation service, and it includes 3 days of quarantine right after arriving in Saudi Arabia.
- Transportation service between ports and accommodation.
- The comprehensive insurance service
