Crescents installed on 2 Minarets of King Abdulaziz Gate in Makkah Grand Mosque


The two crescents of the King Abdulaziz Gate minarets were installed by the Presidency of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, and are among the most notable examples of Islamic architecture in general and landmarks of the Makkah Grand Mosque in particular. The Agency for Projects and Engineering Studies, in collaboration with Success Partners, the Office of Construction Management for Makkah Al-Mukarramah Projects at the Ministry of Finance, followed up on and directed the work of installing the two crescents at King Abdulaziz's gates, according to a statement on the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques website. - The two crescents were installed on top of the two minarets because the length of the two minarets exceeds more than 130 meters, the height of the two crescents may reach about 9 meters, and the base of each crescent is 2 meters wide, according to the Engineer Muhammad bin Suleiman Al-Waqdani, the General President's Undersecretary for Projects and Engineering Studies.
