Saudi Arabia announced 1,746 new Corona infections in the last 24 hours and on 3rd January, Ministry of Health response to "Does the Corona recovered person needs Booster dose?"


The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia announced 1,746 new corona infections, 341 new recoveries and 2 deaths after performing 85,705 covid-19 tests in the last 24 hours and on 3rd January 2022. Total corona cases in the Kingdom jumps to 559,852 of which 542,754 recovered while 8,881 left this world due to the complications with the virus. So far the health ministry has performed 33,396,224 covid-19 tests since the beginning of the pandemic in the country.

- Active corona cases in the Kingdom further jumps to 8,217. Riyadh tops in the list of active cases with 1,818 corona cases, Jeddah with 1,532, Makkah with 1,486, Madina has 353 infections, Hofouf with 291, Dammam with 245, Al Khobar with 114, while Al Mubarraz with 109 active corona cases. - Saudi Arabia has so far administered over 51.31 million (51,319,280) doses of corona vaccine all over the Kingdom through its 587 vaccination centers. Of the total more than 3 million (3,054,216) are booster doses, while 1.9 million (1,919,496) doses were given to the elderly people.





- The Health ministry also reveals, over 23.22 million (23,221,954) are second doses, while more than 25 million (25,043,110) people received only one dose of the vaccine against covid-19.

Does the Corona recovered person need a Booster dose?

Ministry of Health responded it stating, Yes because the immunity achieved by receiving vaccines protects against severe disease and confronts corona variants. Recommend : Ministry of Interior reminds of 1,000 riyal fine for not wearing a mask or not applying social distancing

- The Ministry also stated that, the immunity resulting from recovery from corona lasts for a short period and taking booster dose enhances the level of immunity for a longer period and protects against complications with the virus.
