Saudi Arabia approves Pfizer Corona vaccine for Children of 12 to 18 years


The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia announced the start of giving the Pfizer vaccine to the age group of 12 to 18 years as per the Gregorian Calendar.







The approval from the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) came after the completion of all scientific studies, which confirmed the effectiveness of the vaccine and its results for this group.

- The health ministry said this step comes in a line of its efforts to expand the administration of the vaccine, after vaccinating 70% of the adult population in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as it recently started giving the second dose to those who are above 50 years of age. - The ministry stated that, the continuous decline in age in giving the second dose, according to the progress in community coverage, as per the priority categories, and the availability of supplying vaccines.





- The health ministry added that it is possible to book an appointment to receive the vaccine through the Sehhaty app and the Tawakkalna app.

- The Ministry of Health pointed out that the national campaign for the Corona vaccine is going according to what is planned. So far, (17,337,401) doses of the Corona vaccine have been administered to citizens and residents through more than (587) centers in various regions of the Kingdom.
