Saudi Universities across the Kingdom opens Coronavirus Vaccine centers


Several universities of Saudi Arabia are preparing for opening Covid-19 vaccination centers as part of efforts to support immunization drive against the corona virus reports Saudi Press Agency (SPA).



In Riyadh, the centers to be at King Saud University, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Majmaah University and the Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University.

- While in south-western province of Asir, Bisha University to open a vaccine center, In Makkah, Umm al-Qura Universitty will setting up an immunization center.

- Vaccination at Universities to be provided to the faculty members and their family members and also to the citizens and expats. The doses to provide to general public as per the priority and age group and as per the approved electronic systems.

- Specialized administrative workers to organize medical staff to ensure that the vaccination drive runs smoothly at the new centers of universities.

- The move comes as part of Ministry of Education efforts, as per the guidance of education minister Hamad Al-Sheikh, to join the Kingdom efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. Recommend : Vaccine receiver does not have choice to select the type of vaccination he can receive

- Under the directives of Al-Asheikh, Universities across the Kingdom have been implementing emergency plans to fight with coronavirus pandemic since February 2020 reports SPA as per the report of Al Arabiya.

- This plan includes programs, events and society activities that aim to raise awareness about the threat of Corona virus disease.

- Universities in Saudi Arabia also provided technical and human support to state institutions in university hospitals and health centers, as well as allocated buildings for the isolation and quarantine of patients infected with Covid-19.

- Saudi Arabia ranked first in Arab world, 12th among G20 nations and 17th at the global level in publishing scientific research on the Covid-19.
