 Palestine issue is at Forefront of issues supported by Saudi Arabia's Foreign Policy - Foreign Minister


The Minister of Foreign Affairs in Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah restated that the Palestinian issue is a fundamental Arab issue, and Saudi Arabia has not hesitated to defend the Palestinian cause since the era of King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman until Today, as this issue is still at the top issues that the Kingdom supports in its foreign policy.



This message of solidarity sent by the Saudi Foreign Minister to the Committee concerned with the Palestinian people's exercise of their inalienable rights, on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

- At the beginning of the message, His Highness extended to the members of the Committee concerned with the exercise of the non-negotiable rights of the Palestinian people, his thanks and appreciation for their efforts in defending the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people that contribute to allowing them to exercise their rights guaranteed by the relevant international decisions.

- He said, The position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia remains firm in the Palestinian issue and in defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinians, and in sticking to the Arab peace initiative that was drawn up by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and adopted by the Arab countries at the Beirut summit in 2009.

- Which states the right of the Palestinians to get an independent Palestinian state. The 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, the return of refugees and the withdrawal of the occupation from the occupied Syrian Arab Golan Heights, as this historic initiative came as an important pillar supporting the end of the Arab-Israeli conflict and enhancing opportunities for peace between all parties.

- The Foreign Minister added, Saudi Arabia expresses once again its commitment to support the strategic choice for peace in accordance with international resolutions and laws, highlighting the importance of the Israeli occupation to stop building settlements on Palestinian lands, and supports what was stated in Security Council Resolution 2334, which stated that the Israeli occupation of settlements on Palestinian lands constitutes a violation. obvious under international law, and an obstacle to achieving lasting and comprehensive peace.

- Prince Faisal bin Farhan explained that the Palestinian people have suffered in getting their most important rights to establish economic growth that contributes to providing livelihoods and improving their conditions, especially in light of the economic downturn the world is witnessing due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

- He further added, Under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Kingdom signed an agreement with UNRWA through the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action to support it in the face of COVID-19 in the Gaza Strip, The Kingdom also provided assistance to support the Palestinian Ministry of Health to address the Covid-19 pandemic, amounting to more than (10) million Saudi riyals, and the Kingdom is one of the largest donor countries to UNRWA through the agreements signed with the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action and the Saudi Fund for Development.

- In the conclusion of his message, the Foreign Minister highlighted that the Kingdom's support for Palestine stems from its belief in the importance of the Palestinian cause, defense of Palestinian rights and decent living, and the importance of promoting peace between the conflicting parties. He stressed the importance for the international community to pay attention to the Palestinian issue, and for international efforts to intensify to end the conflict and enhance the stability of the region.
