 New Corona Strain threatens more Deaths than the first Covid-19 - Researchers


According to a study published by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, scientists warned that the new strain of the emerging Covid-19 that is spreading in UK is at an average infectious rate of 56% more than the first version of Corona virus, and they wished a rapid distribution of the vaccine to help prevent more deaths.



As per the study, the mutated type of Covid-19 that appeared in southeast Britain in November is likely to increase deaths in 2021, as well as the need for infected people to enter hospitals for treatment.

- The researchers, who have focused on southeast Britain and London, said it remains unknown whether the new strain is more or less deaths than its first version. Trending : Turkey discovered massive gold treasures of 99 tons worth 6 billion dollars

- However, the increase in infection is likely to lead to more accidents, they added. As infections requiring hospital transportation due to Covid-19 and deaths are expected to reach higher levels in the year 2021 than we observed in 2020, even if the restrictions that were imposed before December 19 are maintained. 

- The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced Saturday, during the announcement of more stringent lockdown measures during the Christmas holidays, that the new strain "may be up to 70% more contagious. Read : Two years imprisonment and 500,000 fine for attacking on railways in Saudi Arabia

- The discovery of the new strain sparked fear throughout, with many countries launching vaccination campaigns to limit the spread of the virus, which has killed more than 1.7 million people since its emergence.
