 UAE extends Grace Period of Residence visa violators till 31st December 2020


United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced an extension to the grace period for resident expatriates whose visas have expired. Earlier, The deadline was November 17, Now the grace period has been extended till end of this year (31st December, 2020).



The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) issued a decision to extend the period of exemption for being fined for expats who are illegally living in UAE even after their visas expired before 1st March 2020, They can leave the country before the end of this year without paying fine. - The period of extension is for overstayed violators, who violated the entry and foreigners residence law before 1st March, 2020. They will be exempted from all fines if they leave the UAE by 31st December said Major General Saeed Rakan Al Rashidi, The Director General Affairs and Ports.

- This order applies to all people who is staying illegally in UAE after their visit visas, tourist visas, residency permits or visas had expired before 1st March 2020. Read : Top 10 countries with world's largest oil reserves

- Exit procedures can be done in three steps, including securing the passport, ticket and arriving before enough time.
