 Food Waste in Saudi Arabia hits 400 billion riyals Annually


A state food security company in Saudi Arabia has estimated that the food waste in Kingdom worth more than 400 billion Saudi Riyals in one year.



Makkah region tops in the list of food waste in Saudi Arabia, Eastern Region comes next in the list and Riyadh region ranks 3rd in the list, as per the tweet of Saudi Company for Agricultural Investment and Animal Production (SALIC). - Rice has taken the lead of the squandered food items with 31%, followed by bread with 25%, poultry with 16%, fish with 14.5% and dates with 5.5%, reveals the company in a breakdown reports Gulf News.
