World Health Organization praised the Measures taken by Saudi Arabia for the safety of Hajj pilgrims

The Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanum Gebresos, praised the measures taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect Hajj pilgrims from the new Corona virus (Covid-19).




The measures taken by the Saudi Arabia are a good example of what countries can implement in order to adapt to the new situation, coexist with the virus and protect ourselves.

- He congratulated Eid Al-Adha for Muslims all over the world and congratulated Saudi Arabia on the steps it had taken to ensure the safety of Hajj pilgrims as much as possible this year.

He said that the Corona pandemic does not mean that life should stop, rather that it must coexist with it and that everyone lives his life while protecting himself and others from infection.




Adhanum added that countries have asked their citizens to understand the danger surrounding them because of the pandemic, and every country uses a set of tools that are appropriate for local communities, noting that enacting laws and imposing fines may be effective in combating the spread of infection.

He explained that 40% of the deaths associated with Covid 19 in a number of developed countries occurred in nursing homes, calling for the protection of the most vulnerable and most vulnerable segments of the disease such as the elderly, noting that young people also are not immune from the virus and may be infected with the type Serious disease.
