SAMA : Contact the Banks if your ATM Card or Account Frozen after Iqama or National ID expired

The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) has called all to contact banks to activate the bank account in case of freeze due to the expiration of the iqama or national identity card. Most Viewed : Saudi Arabia records 103 deaths with 10,484 Coronavirus infections




SAMA had previously instructed all banks in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to extend the validity of the expired bank accounts or ATM debit cards till 2nd June 2020 (10th Shawwal 1441), with the importance of satisfying the customers approval for the extension. - The banks provided the necessary solutions to be put in place to facilitate the procedures for renewing the cards and delivering them to the customers by all available means, and approved the extension of suspension of bank accounts to individuals, whether due to the expiration of National identity or Iqama or the status of the bank account becoming inactive.





- The aim of the decision of extension to those whose validity expired is an effort from facing any issues that occurred due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) and to overcome the difficulties that may face banks and customers and also to benefit the banking services in the exceptional circumstances.
