King Salman approves Reducing the Number of Taraweeh Rakats in Two Holy Mosques

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has approved praying Taraweeh prayers in the Two Holy Mosques with reducing them to just 5 Tasleemat (10 Raka'h) in addition to completing the Holy Quran in Tahajjud prayer with continuing to suspend the attendance of worshipers, so as to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.




The General President of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais who indicated that the aim of easing and reducing these prayers is to apply precautionary and preventive measures, with the continuation of performing the ritual of night prayers (Al-Qyam) and completing the Holy Quran (Khatm Al-Quran) in the Two Holy Mosques.

- He further said that prayers will be restricted to worshipers in Isha prayer only.

- He pointed out that all the precautions and measures will be taken with the security and health authorities to ensure the health and safety of the worshipers, indicating that supplication of Qunoot will be reduced and focused on pushing the epidemic and raising it, to apply the law of God, with a package of precautionary measures, and its knowledge of the jurisprudence of the fountains, and its keenness to save the soul.




- He called on Allah Almighty to protect the country of the Two Holy Mosques from all evil, to perpetuate its security, safety and stability and to remove this pandemic from the whole world, to preserve wise leadership, to bless them for what he loves and pleases, to repay their mistakes and to bless in their endeavors.
