Saudi Arabia Ranked Top Global Donor of Humanitarian Aid
Saudi Arabia has given more than SR528 billion ($141 billion) in aid since 1975, funding 8,134 projects across 174 countries in the past 50 years. Every year on September 5, the International Day of Charity highlights the Kingdom’s global leadership in humanitarian and relief efforts.
According to the Saudi Aid Platform, total Saudi contributions have reached SR528.4 billion ($140.9 billion), ranking the country among the world’s top donors. Research from the European University Institute shows that Saudi Arabia provided about 3.7% of all global humanitarian aid between 2014 and 2023. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), Saudi Arabia’s main relief organization, has carried out 3,632 projects in 108 countries over the last 10 years, with a value of more than $8.15 billion. These projects have supported millions of people in Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, and other countries.
In Gaza, KSrelief has delivered over 7,500 tons of aid and 20 ambulances through air and sea bridges. The Kingdom’s "Sahem" electronic donation platform has also raised more than SR1.61 billion, showing strong public trust.
