KSA arrests 9,639 violators of Residency, work, and Border security regulations within 1 week


In a span of one week, 9,639 individuals were arrested in Saudi Arabia by joint field campaigns that enforced restrictions regarding residency, work, and border security, according to the Ministry of Interior. Most Viewed: Saudi Arabia and Egypt is planning to build Moses Bridge over Red Sea



During the period from 5th June 2025 to 11th June 2025, the ministry conducted campaigns throughout the kingdom to monitor and arrest individuals who violated regulations regarding residency, labor, and border security. The results of these campaigns are as follows:

A total of 9639 offenders were caught during the linked security field operations across the whole kingdom. Of these, 5625 were found to have violated the residence law, 2797 were found to have violated the border security law, and 1217 were found to have violated the labor law.

A total of 1,117 individuals were arrested while attempting to cross the border into the Kingdom; 72% of those individuals were Ethiopian, and 28% were Yemeni.

Furthermore, 35 individuals were taken into custody for attempting to cross the border outside the kingdom without proper documentation.

A total of 14,402 expatriates have violated the system implementation procedures so far. Of these, 13,364 are men and 1,038 are women.

Deportation was the result for 7,657 offenders; 840 were directed to finalize their flight plans, and 8,630 were recommended to their diplomatic offices to get travel documents.

According to the Ministry of Interior, there are severe consequences for those who help illegal immigrants enter the Kingdom, whether it's by transporting them, providing shelter, or offering any kind of assistance.

The penalties include public shaming, a fine of up to one million riyals, confiscation of their means of transportation or housing, and a maximum prison sentence of fifteen years.

The Saudi authority urged anyone in the Eastern Province, Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Riyadh, or Madinah Al-Munawwarah to call 911, while those in the rest of the Kingdom should call 999 or 996.
