Saudi Arabia Mandates 30% Saudization for 46 Engineering Professions
Saudi Arabia has made a fresh decision about making 30% of the 46 engineering jobs in the private sector available to locals. The government is doing this to make it easier for Saudi citizens to find work, especially in vital technological and engineering sectors.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing jointly issued the decision on December 31, 2025. Localization Requirements and Salary Conditions
The new rules mandate that private companies fill at least 30% of engineering positions with Saudi engineers. In addition, the decision sets a minimum monthly salary of SR8,000 for Saudi engineers working under this policy.

The Saudi Council of Engineers must officially accredit all engineers employed under this decision as part of the localization policy. This requirement guarantees the maintenance of professional standards, qualifications, and technical competence throughout the engineering sector.
