Hajj security forces arrests 8 people for transporting over 64 individuals into Makkah

In the first case, authorities arrested an expatriate for trying to transport 35 undocumented pilgrims to Makkah in a bus. To ensure that the proper penalties are carried out, the individuals who were arrested were reported to the appropriate committee.

In a separate case, Hajj security authorities arrested two men for bringing 7 expats to Makkah in a car operated by one of them, which was in violation of the norms and directives that relate to the Hajj. They were sent to the appropriate authority so that the penalties that were specified for them may be imposed on them.

In another case, on Saturday, authorities announced that the police in the Riyadh region had arrested an Egyptian resident for the purpose of scamming individuals by stating that she could issue permits for Hajj and entry into Makkah using social media platforms.

Immediately after the suspect was taken into prison, legal proceedings were launched, and she was subsequently referred to the Public Prosecution.

On Friday, Saudi officials arrested two expats for trying to bring passengers into Makkah without Hajj permits as part of their ongoing efforts to enforce laws ahead of this year's pilgrimage season. Security personnel seized an individual of Indian nationality on Friday. The individual was the driver of an ambulance that transported three residents and one visa offender, all of whom did not possess Hajj permits.

The driver was taken over on the way to Makkah, and all parties have been referred to the appropriate committee for penalties.

A day earlier, on Thursday, security forces seized an Egyptian national operating a bus carrying 22 people who were breaking Hajj rules.

The driver and the unauthorized pilgrims were apprehended and referred to disciplinary proceedings.

The Ministry of Interior highlighted that any individual possessing a visit visa who enters or seeks to enter Makkah or the holy places, or remains there without authority, between the 1st of Dhul Qa'dah and the end of the 14th day of Dhul Hijjah will face a fine of up to SR20,000. Additionally, residents who violate the rules will face deportation and a 10-year ban from returning to the kingdom.

Under present restrictions, anyone caught carrying individuals with visit visas or other non-Hajj permits into Makkah or the holy sites faces a fine of up to SR100,000. The fine increases per person and may result in car confiscation under court order.

To ensure the security and safety of pilgrims, the ministry advised all citizens and tourists to follow Hajj procedures. Authorities also urged the public to report irregularities by dialing 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 in other parts of the kingdom.
