New circular from GACA regarding Cash, Jewelry and Precious Metals at Saudi Airports, 3 Airports tops the rating of GACA


The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) issued new instructions to airlines about cash, jewelry and precious metals from taking out or bringing into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. See Also : 6 items that require a custom declaration upon arrival and departure from Saudi Arabia







The GACA issued a circular to airlines on the necessity of disclosing cash, jewelry and precious metals carried by passengers that exceed the permissible limit (60,000 Saudi riyals).

- The authority called on airlines to commit to educate the incoming and outgoing travelers to and from Saudi Arabia of the necessity of disclosing to competent authority of the Kingdom about amounts of cash, precious metals and jewelry that exceed the permissible limit as per the laws of Saudi Arabia. Three Airports top the rating of Civil Aviation Authority :

- Last week, GACA issued its monthly report on the performance of Saudi Arabia's international and domestic airports for the month of January 2022. The report stated that Madina's Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, Al-Jawf International Airport and King Saud Airport in Al-Baha achieved advanced positions.

- The authority followed the principle of transparency towards evaluating the performance of the sector, which is divided into 3 categories, starting with the category of international airports, in which the number of passengers exceeds 6 million passengers annually. - Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madina ranked 1st with a commitment rate of 82%, while King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah with a commitment rate of 73% ranked 2nd, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam came 3rd with a commitment rate of 64%, while King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh came 4th with a commitment rate of 64%.





International Airports :

- In category of International airports with less than 6 million passengers per year, Al-Jouf Airport ranked first with a commitment rate of 100% and outperformed competing airports in the total average waiting times for the departure and arrival airport. Similar : Indian airports allowed the limit of Gold for NRI passengers

Domestic Airports :

- In the category of domestic airports, King Saud bin Abdulazia Airport in Al-Baha ranked first as it achieved a score of 100%, outperforming all competing airports in total average wait times for an incoming and outgoing flight.




Evaluation Criteria :

- The General Authority of Civil Aviation relies on 14 basic performance for evaluating criteria, including waiting time of passengers in travel procedures, time spent by traveler in front of baggage process, passport and customs areas, criteria related to people with disabilities and other criteria as per the international best practices.
