SIGN Hosts Grand Farewell for Consul (Commerce) Mr. Mohd Hashim in Jeddah
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia — The Striding Indian Global Network (SIGN) held a grand and formal farewell event for Mr. Mohd Hashim, Consul (Commerce), to commemorate the end of his important time in Jeddah. Event was hosted on December 15, 2025, at the newly opened Imperium Hall by Saad Anwar. It was a gathering of prominent figures from the Indian diaspora. The community's unusual show of unity was on full display throughout this meeting, which was marked by a high degree of engagement and diversity.
The prestigious farewell commenced with a keynote by Mr. Mohd Siraj, General Secretary of SIGN, whose groundwork ensured an evening of dignity, structure, and heartfelt appreciation. The program was hosted by Dr. Prince Zia, President of SIGN, who delivered a distinguished presidential address blended with Urdu shayari, creating an atmosphere filled with emotion, grace, and cultural sentiment that resonated with the entire audience.
The ceremony was further honored by the presence of Chief Patron Mr. Nooruddin Sahab, who delivered a thoughtful gratitude speech that recognized the value and commitment Mr. Mohd Hashim brought to his role during his tenure in Jeddah. The SIGN Team handed a formal tribute expressing the community's collective respect, followed by a personal gift from Vice Patron Mr. Saad Anwar.

Senior officials from all around the Indian diaspora, including organizations, regions, states, and cultural backgrounds, participated in interactive sessions where they thanked Mr. Mohd Hashim for being available, honest, and helpful. Leaders from both North Indian and South Indian communities took the time to thank him, which shows how much respect he acquired during his time in office.
The ceremony brought together leaders and dignitaries associated with Islahi Center, IBPN, IDMF, IISJ, DPS, and numerous other community platforms. Among the many well-known personalities, there were SP Singh, Dr. Khaja Yaminuddin, Arif Qureshi, Mohd Faheem, Osman Dabang, Layeeq, Mirza Qudrat Nawaz, Shams Uddin Olassery, Syed Sharique Ali, Dr. Zergem Zia, Devendra Mundhe, Balasubranium, Mohammedi, Qamar Saada, and Ateeq Siddiqui. They were joined by other senior members like Salah Kardan, Mir Gazanfar Zaki, Zakariya Biladi, Vijay Soni, Pradeep Sharma, Asim Zeeshan, Dr. Ashfaq Muniyar, Dr. Saleem, Dr. Imran, and Dr. Zia Nadwi. Members demonstrated how much they respected the outgoing Consul by coming together as a group.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Saleem, who also serves as the Vice President of SIGN, acknowledging every contributor and highlighting the harmony that defined the evening.
As Vice Patron of SIGN, Mr. Saad Anwar personally sponsored the event, reflecting his continued commitment to community leadership and inclusive engagement. His support played a key role in making the farewell ceremony a success, including hosting the gathering at the newly inaugurated Imperium Hall. Mr. Saad’s contribution was widely acknowledged by attendees as a gesture of responsibility, vision, and dedication toward strengthening community platforms and fostering unity within the Indian diaspora in Jeddah.
A community dinner followed, providing an opportunity for more in-depth engagement, reflection, and displays of goodwill. The evening evolved into a cultural celebration, with musical performances by Wasim Mukadam, Amjad Hussain, and Asad Ali providing a lively and exuberant finale to the farewell.
Mr. Mohd Hashim's tenure in Jeddah would formally end on December 10, 2025. He will then leave for New Delhi on December 18, 2025, to start his next job with the Ministry of External Affairs. The whole community sent him heartfelt wishes and said they hoped to see him back in Jeddah in the future, maybe even in a higher diplomatic role.
The farewell was widely described as a landmark occasion—dignified, culturally rich, and a powerful expression of unity within the Indian diaspora. It also marked the official opening for Imperium Hall, establishing it as an elegant venue for future diplomatic, community, and professional events in Jeddah.
