Education authorities in Riyadh and the Eastern Province have decided to switch to remote learning on Tuesday. All in-person classes will move to online learning through the Madrasati platform in most schools and related governorates.

In the Eastern Province, the decision applies to schools in Al-Ahsa, as well as all schools in Dammam and the governorates of Al-Khobar, Qatif, Al-Bayda, Jubail, Ras Tanura, Buqayq, Al-Nuairiyah, Qaryat Al-Ulya, and Al-Uyoun. The move is intended to protect students’ safety while continuing the education process during the current weather conditions. In Riyadh, education authorities announced the suspension of in-person classes in the capital city and the governorates of Diriyah, Al-Kharj, Al-Dilam, Al-Hareeq, Hawtat Bani Tamim, Thadiq, Huraymila, Al-Muzahimiyah, Rumah, and Dharmaa. Learning will continue online through approved digital platforms.

At the same time, the Qassim Education Department announced a delay in the start of the school day on Tuesday, with classes beginning at 9:00 a.m. in all schools across the region.

The National Center for Meteorology's weather alerts, which warned of ongoing rainfall in several parts of the Kingdom, prompted these decisions.

Officials in charge of education have stated that these steps are necessary to protect both students and educators while facilitating the safe and efficient continuation of the educational process. Most Viewed: Foreigners to own property in Saudi Arabia under new law
