Moroor also issued a reminder on Saturday about the importance of staying within designated road lanes. Not staying in the specified lanes is against the law and can get you a fine of 300 to 500 riyals. The department said that using the appropriate lanes helps keep traffic moving smoothly and in order.

In another warning, the department stressed that overloading light transport vehicles or extending the load beyond allowed limits threatens road safety. Exceeding the permitted load size for these vehicles is a traffic offense with a penalty between 500 and 900 riyals.

The General Traffic Department also cautioned drivers against following emergency vehicles while they are responding to incidents or using sirens. Moroor stated that chasing emergency vehicles is inappropriate behavior and is considered a traffic violation that carries a fine between 500 and 900 riyals.
