VistaJet Gets Saudi Aviation License, Supporting Vision 2030 Goals
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has given VistaJet a special license to operate private flights on demand inside Saudi Arabia. This makes VistaJet the first foreign private aviation company to receive such approval for domestic flights inside the Kingdom.
The certificate was issued after GACA’s decision to permit foreign private jet operators to run on-demand flights inside Saudi Arabia starting May 1, 2025. VistaJet received the license after meeting all the conditions and safety standards listed in the Civil Aviation Law’s executive regulations. This step is part of the Aviation Program under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to make Saudi Arabia the top aviation hub in the Middle East by 2030. The plan also focuses on turning the Kingdom into a global logistics center that links Asia, Africa, and Europe. Private aviation is considered an important driver for business and tourism growth in the country.
VistaJet will begin operating domestic flights in Saudi Arabia to attract investments, support tourism, and strengthen the Kingdom’s role in the global aviation market. This is expected to develop the private aviation sector and make it more competitive regionally and internationally.
Awad Al-Sulami, GACA's Executive Vice President for Economic Policies and Logistics, said the new certificate is a major step toward improving private aviation services in the Kingdom. He explained that it will increase competition, drive sector growth, and improve service quality.
GACA confirmed that issuing the license reflects its commitment to the highest safety standards while enhancing the overall private aviation experience. It also shows GACA’s efforts to build an attractive investment environment and provide full support for the development of civil aviation.
