Saudi Tourism Ministry Explains 20-Hour Hotel Stay Rule

Saudi Tourism Ministry Explains 20-Hour Hotel Stay Rule

The Saudi Ministry of Tourism clarified that the 20-hour stay rule for hotels and tourist places aligns with international standards. Guests must have at least 20 hours between check-in and check-out, and these times are listed in the booking.

Twenty hours must be provided, but hotels are free to choose their own schedules. Arriving late does not change the check-out time. See Also: Nusuk App can now be access without internet in Saudi Arabia

If check-in is at 10 PM and check-out is at noon the next day, the guest must still check out at noon. Any lost time is the guest’s responsibility. This rule applies regardless of what time the guest checks in on that day.

The policy allows hotels enough time to clean and prepare rooms for the next guest, keeping high standards of cleanliness and service. The calculation is based on the times listed in the confirmed booking document.

The Ministry also says guests have the right to get the same room type, services, and facilities promised when booking. Visitors should check the hotel’s check-in and check-out rules before paying.
