Saudi Arabia Reaffirms Support for Two-State Solution at High-Level UN Conference
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan confirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to the two-state solution as a foundation for sustained regional peace and stability during a high-level international conference hosted at the United Nations in New York on Monday.
Together with France, Saudi Arabia co-hosted an event titled "Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Issue and the Two-State Solution." Prince Faisal: Two-State Solution Is the Path to Regional Stability
In his opening remarks, Prince Faisal stated:
“The Kingdom believes that the two-state solution is the key to stability in the region.”
He described the New York conference as a “critical turning point” toward the implementation of this vision and stressed the need to uphold the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. He welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent pledge to recognize the State of Palestine.
Financial Assistance and the Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza:
Additionally, Prince Faisal spoke out about the humanitarian situation in Gaza, urging an immediate cessation of suffering. In a statement, he revealed that Saudi Arabia and France had helped the Palestinian people receive $300 million from the World Bank. He went on to say that the Arab Peace Initiative is still a good starting point for a fair and comprehensive settlement and that he backs the work of the International Coalition for a Two-State Solution. He also highlighted the following points.

France Echoes the call for Immediate Action:
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noรซl Barrot echoed Prince Faisal’s urgency, condemning the targeting of civilians in Gaza and calling for an end to the prolonged conflict.
“This war has gone on far too long and must end,” he said, urging the international community to make the two-state solution a “tangible reality.”
Barrot described the conference as a “turning point” that has created “unstoppable momentum” toward a political solution in the Middle East.
UN Secretary-General: Seize the Moment for Peace
UN Secretary-General Antรณnio Guterres thanked Saudi Arabia and France for organizing the conference and referred to it as a “unique opportunity to seize the current momentum.”

Palestinian Prime Minister Calls for Unity and Peace
Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa praised the conference, calling it a “historic opportunity” and a strong message of global solidarity with Palestinians.
He called for Palestinian unity and urged Hamas to transfer weapons to the Palestinian Authority to help restore order. He also proposed that international forces be deployed to protect civilians, in coordination with the Palestinian Authority, and expressed his readiness to fulfill all obligations in Gaza.
“Peace is the only way forward,” he said.
