Jawazat Explains How to Get a Resident ID via Absher
The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) explained the steps needed to get a resident ID or iqama, through the Absher platform.
This came in response to an inquiry from a citizen in which he asked,
"Peace be upon you and the mercy of God and His blessings. Good evening.

In response, the Saudi Jawazat said,
The resident ID, or iqama, can be issued after paying the required fees, the employer must issue the resident ID using either the Absher or Muqeem platform.
A medical check-up is also required to finish the process.
The Directorate also warned that if the resident ID is not issued within 90 days from the date of entry, a fine of 500 riyals will be charged. Related: Requirements and procedure to issue iqama for new expat workers
