Trump and World Leaders Sign Gaza Peace Deal at Sharm El-Sheikh Summit
U.S. President Donald Trump joined over 20 world leaders in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, on Monday for major talks about Gaza’s future, as the first phase of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire began.
World leaders at the Gaza Peace Summit included Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair, and senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates. The leaders posed for a group photo in front of a banner reading “Peace 2025” before the official signing ceremony connected to the ceasefire deal.
President Trump, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi, Turkish President Erdoğan, and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani signed the agreement on behalf of the participating nations. Other world leaders watched the signing.
“This took 3,000 years to get to this point. Can you believe it? And it’s going to hold up too. It’s going to hold up,” Trump said during the signing.
The White House has not yet released the full details of the agreement.
In his speech, Trump called the signing “a turning point for the region,” saying it was the result of months of diplomatic work.
“This is the day people across this region and around the world have been working, striving, hoping, and praying for,” he said.

Notably, representatives from Israel and Hamas did not attend the ceremony or talks in Egypt. Their U.S.-brokered ceasefire officially began last week after two years of war in Gaza.
