Kingdom's Security Campaign Detains Thousands for Residency, Border, and Labor Violations



Saudi Arabian authorities captured 22,147 individuals for violations of residence, labor, and border security regulations throughout the kingdom during a huge crackdown campaign that ran from July 24th to July 30th, 2025.

Breakdown of Violations:

🔘 Residency system violations: 13,835 individuals.

🔘 Border security violations: 4,772 individuals.

Border Security Measures:

Security forces caught 1,816 people trying to enter the Kingdom illegally. Among those:

🔹 36% were Yemeni nationals.

🔹 62% were Ethiopian nationals.

🔹 2% belonged to other nationalities.

Additionally, 34 individuals were caught attempting to exit the Kingdom unlawfully.

Arrests Related to Harboring and Transporting Violators:

Authorities also apprehended 20 individuals accused of transporting, sheltering, or employing violators of national laws concerning residency, labor, and border regulations.

Current Detention and Deportation Statistics:

According to the Ministry of Interior's weekly report:

✅ 21,143 individuals are currently undergoing legal processing.

🔘 18,326 men

🔘 2,817 women

✅ 13,569 violators were referred to their respective diplomatic missions for travel document issuance.

✅ 3,566 individuals are in the process of finalizing travel arrangements.

Legal Consequences for Assisting Violators:

The Ministry of Interior issued a strong warning against facilitating illegal entry or residence in the Kingdom. Penalties for violators include public defamation, penalties of up to one million Saudi Riyals, confiscation of vehicles and property involved, and a maximum prison sentence of fifteen years.

Such infractions are considered major crimes because they endanger public trust and our nation's security.
