SAUDI FAMILY VISIT VISA CONTINUE THROUGHOUT YEAR
According to Arab News, A source from The Directorate General of Passports informed that Family visit visa's for Saudi Expatriates (All countries) will issue continuously throughout the year. Even in Ramadan, Hajj and holidays.
Renewing or extending Saudi expats family visit visas is also continue to service throughout the whole year same as issuing family visit visas. Renewal and extensions of visit visas is possible through Abshir electronic system for all nationalities. But the condition is Family visit visa is limited to only 6 months in Saudi Arabia. It is not possible to renew or extend visit visa once six months finished. Dependents should leave Saudi Arabia and can come back in new visa.
If family visit visa is issued for 1 month, Then expats can renew it every month till six months, If your family visit visa is issued for 3 months then you can renew it one more time (3 months) through MOI online Abshir service.
An amount of SR 15000/- will be fined followed by deportation for the first time, if a visitor overstays in his visa. If same visitor repeated the violation, A fine of SR 25000/- will be fined with 3 months Jail followed by deportation. A fine will be doubled to SR 50000/- with 6 month Jail and deportation in case of third violation.
However it is not clear that from when issuing family visit visa's will continue throughout the year, As many expats are getting still the same message "نأمل تعبئة طلب جديد بعد موسم الحج" that is "We hope to issue a new request application after the Hajj season", while applying for family visit visa. However our blog reader Eide Hillal informed that, He extended his family visit visa even on holiday (Saturday) through online Abshir service.
FAMILY VISIT VISA APPLICATIONS CLOSED TILL HAJJ 2016
Like every year, This year 2016 also Issuing Family Visit Visa's in Saudi Arabia closed till hajj. You can still apply visit visa through MOFA (Ministry Of Foreign Affairs) online website, But the status of the visit visa results you in 'request to apply after Hajj of 2016'. Most of the expats are getting the status message as 'Apply after hajj', since mid of May 2016.
Our blog readers already reported it on our Facebook page, Online visit visa (spouse visa) applications are also closed Before starting the month of Ramadan, As they are getting this message "نأمل تعبئة طلب جديد بعد موسم الحج" It means "We hope to issue a new request application after the Hajj season". However it will not effect issuing permanent family visa's, Only the process will be slow down. If you already got visit visa, You can able to process it and bring your family even in Ramadan month.
Saudi Expatriates are still able to renew their family visit visa's. Hopefully it will continue this Ramadan, It may effect in Hajj season. No more extensions or renewals of visit visa family Saudi Arabia who completed 6 months. Those who are already in Saudi Arabia family visit visa can perform Umrah in Ramadan month. Earlier year (2014) renewing family visa's was closed in Ramadan month, Many expats sent back their families to their home countries. However in 2015, extending visit visa's not closed.

Many people have question on their mind that "will Saudi Arabian Airlines allows to carry zamzam water while traveling from Saudi Arabia to our home country?".
According to Saudi Arabian Airlines website, If you are traveling from Jeddah Airport (King Abdulaziz International Airport) or Madinah Airport (Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Airport) then you can able to carry one gallon of zam zam water of 5 liters from sogia factory as checked in baggage.
If you are traveling from Other Saudi Arabian Airports (Except Jeddah & Madinah) then you cannot carry it as free baggage, but you have an option to carry in your baggage. It means, If your ticket allows you 46Kg luggage (23Kg+23Kg) but you have only 30Kg luggage with you then you can include your 10 liter zam zam water in this luggage.
According to a recent experience (May 2015) of our blog reader, While traveling from Riyadh Airport to India through Saudi Arabian Airlines, He is unable to carry zam zam water as he already have 46Kg luggage with him. So even though he bring zam zam water, He is unable to take with him as its not in free luggage from Saudi Arabian Airlines, While his friends who traveled from Other Airlines brought 5 to 10 liters of zam zam water as free baggage. Our blog reader who traveled from Saudi Airlines also informed that, His ticket allows 7Kg of luggage as hand baggage, But he brought more than 12Kg as hand baggage as they are not weighing for hand baggage.
